Priyanka and Juan met at the Stanford School of Medicine. During their time together they enjoyed having conversations around maps for public health. This inspired the collaboration for this book project. Priyanka has worked as a lecturer, researcher, and a consultant. Her work lies at the intersection of public health, urban planning, and policy. Juan is a physician-scientist whose work spans across different areas of public health. He is currently at the UT Houston School of Public Health.
Priyanka has over a decade of experience using an interdisciplinary lens to solve problems at the intersection of different disciplinary boundaries. In her current role, Priyanka works for the University of California Agriculture and Natural Resources Division where she builds capacity for applying geospatial tools for statewide programs such as Community Nutrition and Health, Community Economic Development, Youth Development, Urban Agriculture among others.
